Casey, this 10-piece brush set brings together the Spectrum and Legion brushes he relies on for his oil and acrylic painting practice.

Rather than simply offering a variety of shapes, Todd's set includes multiple sizes and duplicates of key brushes, giving artists the tools to move between different colors, values, and stages of a painting without constantly stopping to clean and reuse the same brush.

The set combines two distinct Trekell synthetic brush lines. Spectrum's soft, microscopically smooth filaments excel at controlled application, refined blending, and minimizing visible brush strokes, while Legion Synthetic Mongoose provides more spring and subtle texture for moving paint, shaping forms, and creating controlled transitions.

Both lines feature blends of varying filament diameters with carefully tapered tips designed to more closely mimic the performance of natural brush hair. Unlike lower-quality synthetic brushes made with uniform, blunt-cut filaments, this construction provides improved paint pickup, smoother paint flow, and more responsive handling.

10-Piece Brush Set Includes

Spectrum

(1) #6 Spectrum Round (3000R-6)

(2) #0 Spectrum Round (3000R-0)

(2) #2 Spectrum Round (3000R-2)

(1) #4 Spectrum Long Flat (3000LF-4)

Legion Synthetic Mongoose

(2) #2 Legion Long Flat (9100FL-2)

(2) #4 Legion Long Flat (9100FL-4)

Why Todd Chose These Brushes

The Spectrum Rounds provide excellent versatility for drawing with paint, shaping forms, blending, and moving between controlled details and broader strokes simply by adjusting pressure.

The Spectrum Long Flat combines a squared edge with longer bristles for increased paint capacity and fluidity, making it useful for longer strokes, blending, blocking in, and creating controlled edges.

The Legion Long Flats add a different feel to the set.
